first, i want to congratulate
herrgooch on
whooping everyone's ass in my ncaa tournament pool; no matter what happens tonight, he's got such a lead that no one can catch him, and if ohio state wins (please, god, let ohio state win!), he takes the top two spots. get down with your bad tournament-picking self, mr. gooch! email me and let me know what you'd like as a prize -- fic in any of my fandoms as well as a few others i've never written -- you can always try me for fic about various movies, worst happens i say no -- in is fair game, as is a music spam of your choosing. minervacat at gmail.
okay, people, distract me from the impending thesis doom -- it would have been easier to get notes that said,
write more, as opposed to notes that said,
write less, and i've made a ton of revisions but i can't stop tweaking it and just let it be, at this point -- by discussing this possibility with me. okay? okay.
back in january, after we went to see
smokin' aces,
t. and i were talking about our favorite movies of that genre -- the caper flick, the madcap gangster movie, etc, etc. i said,
man, i really want to run a ficathon for that kind of movies, and we went on to make a list of movies we thought would qualify.
the italian job (either
remake or
original).
snatch.
ocean's 11,
12, or even
13.
lock stock and two smoking barrels.
sneakers. we put
domino on the list, and i added
love honour and obey, my favorite black comedy british gangster film, and
maggie added
the thomas crowne affair. the bond movies might qualify;
reservoir dogs and
pulp fiction might qualify.
the more i thought about, the more i was entranced with the idea -- get some fic written in small fandoms, plus, you know, criminals! gangsters! capers! car chases! theft! hilarity! WHO DOES NOT LIKE THESE THINGS.
this isn't a sign-up post. this isn't even a promise i'm going to run this. it's just ... an interest gauging post. so if you think that writing fic for one of those movies i listed above, or another movie in a similar genre vein, would be fun, you should answer this poll.

feel free to ask questions of me regarding this; i'm just sort of still batting the idea around, and i welcome feedback, thoughts, and input.
i'm so scattered today; my brain is in about a million different places, and the list of shit i need to get done this week is expanding at a rate that i do not think is consistent with the rest of the universe. i mean, a to-do list with "finish master's thesis" on it shouldn't be allowed to have any other entries, don't you think? AND YET.
tonight's goals: clean bathroom; finish second draft of thesis; finish one of six thousand unfinished stories on my hard drive (one, say, that is closer to being done than to not being done, not, liek, one of the stories that's got exactly 57 words written on it); watch new doctor who episode. and, you know, that list is not so hefty, and i'm just exhausted thinking about it. i miss sleep. *sad face*
