i really love the tenth doctor a whole lot, and i think i enjoyed the second series of the new who more overall than i enjoyed the first, but i don't think there's a better single episode of the new series of doctor who than "the doctor dances". god. oh, nine. you were really wonderful.

just this once, rose, everybody lives!

oh, don't get me wrong - i love ten, and i really loved the whole season with ten overall more than i loved the one with nine. but as far as single episodes go, man, man, "the doctor dances" is a MASTERPIECE.

i never get tired of watching that episode. the tivo taped all the episodes that sci fi ran today, and i deleted all of them except for "the doctor dances", because it was the only one i wanted to see again. god. so gorgeous. i love nine a lot.

jack could never have a TARDIS. sam would take it apart so she could reverse engineer it, and it would never be the same. jack, sadly, is doomed to never get to see the cubs win the world series in 1908.

i have hopes that ten will grow on you! his suits are adorable and i really desperately love him, but if it's nine for you, i understand. leaves more ten for me. *g*

I still need to catch up on, oh, all of Nine except for the first episode, but so far I'm really liking Ten, and not just for the suit and glasses and Arthur Dent references. Really!

i've been trying to explain my feelings on these things lately, for various reasons, and i think what it is is that i love nine and rose better together, but i'm a lot more invested in ten as an individual; there's something about tennant's doctor that piques my individual interest more than eccleston's nine did.

which is not to say you shouldn't catch up: you should, because if nothing else, the doctor dances, bad wolf and the parting of the ways are BRILLIANT episodes. :)

it's the only episode from the first series of the new who that i'll watch over and over and over again. because it is just that wonderful. such a gorgeous, funny, touchy, well-done episode. ♥
