minervacat: (scattered covered and topped)
  1. Photos from the week at the beach are here. There's pretty much nowhere in the world I love as much as I love my parents' time share in southern North Carolina, and I think the photos show that. (I'm also thrilled that I got the sunrise pictures of the Sunset Beach pontoon bridge, even if my left sneaker was sacrificed to the muddy god of photography, because this morning we saw a news story about how they're finally replacing it; it's the last old-style bridge amongst the Brunswick County beaches, and apparently by 2010, there'll be a huge concrete monstrosity there. So I'm pleased to have gotten those shots, particularly.)

  2. We spent the whole week mainlining Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip on dvd; you guys, I know that many of you still disagree with me, but fuck, I loved that show, and I still think it was wonderful, and I laughed my damn ass off while we powered through 22 Sorkin-riffic episodes. I understand, logically, why it failed; I don't understand at all, emotionally, why it failed. If I could only have either FNL or S60 on TV this season, I'd still pick FNL, without blinking -- but, oh, I wish I could have had more S60. I don't care what you think, I loved that show a lot.

  4. Walk Hard: entertaining. I Am Legend: excellent, but not quite what I was expecting. Also gave me nightmares, *shudder*.

Sweeney Todd: well. SWEEEEEEEEEENEY TODD (if you prefer not to be spoiled for the movie, skip this) )

  5. I came home to packages from [livejournal.com profile] jjtaylor, [livejournal.com profile] bloodlossgirl, and [livejournal.com profile] riverlight, each one a different delight! Thank you all so much, ladies. I am grateful to know all three of you. (And, confidential to M., I got derailed leading up to Christmas and your package is still not sent; it shall get there early January as an Epiphany gift! ♥)

  6. In no particular order, the next two five days: nap, trip to Trader Joe's, trip to Harris Teeter, trip to Target, another nap, Carolina/Nevada game, Carolina/Valpo game, so much football omg, so much cooking omg, shitload of actual work, call the rhythm guitarist, get hammered, another nap, get hammered again, cook, show at the Lincoln, possible boy kissing, get hammered again, take photos, more sleep.
Tomorrow I have to work eight whole hours, which as you all know is very hard for me.

I'm also taking Starbuck to the Apple Store in the morning so she can finally have her CD-R fixed, so I'll be off IM and slow to answer emails until I get her back, probably sometime next week. That doesn't mean you can't get me, it just means I'll be slow, so you need to be patient.

I hope everyone had lovely holidays or lovely days off in the middle of the week or lovely Tuesdays, yo.
