because the internets has given me pretty much everything else i could possibly want (except for naked pictures of matt wieters, but i think i'm out of luck on that one), here is the one thing the internet has not given me to my satisfaction: a website where i can create an account and enter the names of authors (and titles of series if applicable), and when said authors have new books coming out, the website will email me.
not new editions, because honestly i couldn't care less about about the mass market paperback of kathy reichs' third novel, but new titles and new titles only. because i read a lot of mystery series, and i have favorite fiction (and non-fiction) authors that i like to follow, and i tend to only find out about new titles from these authors at random, because i see a new title on the shelf at the library or someone on goodreads adds it to their shelves, and that is just not on.
so internets, if you can't give me naked pictures of the wiets, the least you can do is give me a site that will do nothing more than email me when authors i love have new books coming out. srsly. (my point being: if any of you know of a site with this functionality -- or you have naked pictures of matt wieters -- let me know.)
in other news, of all the things i did this weekend that were vaguely embarrassing, the least embarrassing was actually watching the vmas in full last night. which says something, srsly.
