a bit of administrivia: congratulations to [livejournal.com profile] girlfromsouth, who won my tournament pool with an entry entitled "the insane one" - just goes to show that you should pick those upsets and pick 'em early! lacy, darling, email me what you want to read and i will make you a story for winning. and good show to all of you who played - except for the fact that not one entry - of 22! - in my pool could have gotten points out of the final four, primarily because of the fact that very few of us actually picked any of the actual final four teams. *facepalm*

[livejournal.com profile] smartlikejustin, you may also feel free to email and collect your prize from monday's wager, though i don't know how you can live with yourself for having backed pitino's protege, even if you were right about who would win. i'm just sayin'. *sticks tongue out*

today's top five list: top five songs for sittin' on a (back, front, or side) porch and drinking (beer, iced tea, tequila sunsets, whatever your particular poison is). come on, people. porch sitting is a lost art! help revive it!

my list:
1. "the weather is here, wish you were beautiful", jimmy buffett. ... i used to have cred. i remember having cred. sadly, my cred is no more. poor cred. i hope it's happy somewhere, belonging to someone who doesn't unironically enjoy jimmy buffett.

2. "banditos", the refreshments. for after the beer drinking, when the doing stupid shit part of the evening happens!

3. "the house rules", kane. i'd explain this one, except that i think pretty much anyone who hangs around the supernatural fandom knows why.

4."i think i'll just stay here and drink", merle haggard. i think this choice is fairly self-explanatory. i feel that most days would be better if i didn't have to go anywhere, if i could just stay somewhere and drink beer. or iced tea. or cokes. whatever.

5. "pride and joy", stevie ray vaughn and double trouble. i stuck texas flood back in my car last week and i'd actually forgotten how fucking unbelievable it is as an album. man. perfect for porch sitting, yo.
now you go, okay?

the top five is going on hiatus for the rest of april, darlings, because hiatus is in the best interests of me not failing out of school. we will return to you live, well-rested and halfway through a graduate degree during the first week of may. don't burn thursdays down before then, okay, kids?
